Volkswagen has announced that pre-bookings for the Golf GTI will commence from May 5, 2025. The hatchback will be imported via the CBU route and will be available in limited numbers. Deliveries are expected to begin in June.
The GTI is a high-performance version of the standard Golf. The Mk 8.5 features a slim front fascia with slim LED headlamps, C-shaped LED taillights, a roof spoiler, dual exhausts, and 18-inch alloy wheels.
The sporty hatchback gets an all-black interior with a 12.9-inch touchscreen in the centre, a 3-spoke steering wheel, and a digital instrument cluster.
The Golf GTI is powered by a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder turbo-petrol engine that produces 261 BHP and 370 Nm. The engine is paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox.
VW claims the Golf GTI can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 5.9 seconds and can reach a top speed of 250 km/h. The car has driving modes: Sport, Comfort and Eco, and is equipped with a front axle differential lock and progressive steering.
