VIDEO: TVS Apache RTR 160 facelift spotted testing in India

View Forum Discussion

TVS appears to have started testing the RTR 160 facelift in India, as a test mule of the same was recently spotted on video. The overall design of the facelift is similar to that of the RTR 200 4V, though it gets some new elements to differentiate the design.

As compared to the 200 4V, the new RTR 160 gets a new brushed silver panel on the side, a single seat setup instead of the split seats on the bigger model and a rear drum brake. The front telescopic forks appear to get slightly thinner tubes, while the rear houses a mono-shock. On the other hand, the fuel tank design, headlamp layout, instrument cluster and taillights look similar to what is seen on the RTR 200 4V.

TVS is expected to boost the power output on the RTR 160 facelift. In the current version, the bike gets a 159.7 cc, single-cylinder air-cooled engine that churns out 15 BHP and 13 Nm of torque, while being mated to a 5-speed gearbox.

The new Apache RTR 160 will compete against the likes of the Suzuki Gixxer, Honda CB Hornet 160R, Yamaha FZ-S and the recently launched Pulsar NS 160.
