USA: Next-gen Honda CR-V spotted testing

A test mule of the next-generation Honda CR-V has been spotted in the United States of America.

While the car is camouflaged, we can see that the car gets design changes such as restyled headlamps, a new grille and reworked tail lamps. What is also apparent is that the car has grown in size.

The interiors of the CR-V are expected to be redesigned as well. There have been reports that the car could get a third row of seats. The addition of the extra seats would improve the CR-V's credentials as a family runabout.

According to media reports, engine options for the CR-V are likely to include petrol and diesel units ranging from 1,600cc to 2,400cc. A plug-in-hybrid version with a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine and an electric motor could also be offered.

The new CR-V is expected to be unveiled later this year.
