Underseat woofer installed in my 2024 5th-Gen Honda City MT

I opted for underseat subwoofer as I wanted to keep everything discreet. And also not sacrifice any boot space.

BHPian saket77 recently shared this with other enthusiasts:

Further upgrades to the music system:

Added a sub woofer to the set up and now the system is breathing. However, the stock HU interface lacks proper equalizer settings which could have made the sound more fuller but for now, with Morel Components and the addition of sub woofer, it sounds pretty ok. The HU has only a few DSP presets and basic bass/ treble settings. Not even Mids. Hence, equalizer settings are sorely missed.

I opted for underseat subwoofer as I wanted to keep everything discreet. And also not sacrifice any boot space. In fact, even the underseat subwoofer is a tight fit in the City as seats have minimal clearance with the floor. The performance is very good and ticks all boxes for me as a casual listener- small size, discreet, no wires showing up anywhere, solid build and most importantly- no cutting of any wires of the car harness in the entire installation.

Stuff added:
- Axxess Underseat Subwoofer
- Hi-Lo Converter: To convert speaker level output to RCA level Inputs
- Axxess Wiring Kit: The wiring kit comes with heavy gauge wires with very
thick insulation.

The subwoofer and the wiring kit have vey good build quality and should last the distance in terms of build. The subwoofer has metal body and is heavy for the size. It has a volume control remote (wired) which I have routed near the driver's seat- Just in case one wants to pump up the bass. Initial experience is good. Sorry that I couldn't take much pictures, especially of the wiring kit as the installers ran through pretty quickly with the wiring job.

Here's what BHPian Tony2298 had to say regarding this matter:

Hello Saket,

First of all wish you a happy Holi in advance! The audio upgrade you're carrying out is quite interesting and especially for audiophiles there's nothing better than good audio experience especially during long night drives!

Even I'm interested towards upgrading the audio system of my Dad's WagonR, its currently running stock unit only and while the speakers are actually quite decent enough(Nippon make) it's the HU which is quite outdated now and it doesn't even support USB, it does support AUX but none of my cellphones have a 3.5mm audio jack, in fact I really miss my old LG V30+ which had a Hi-Fi dac for 3.5mm jack and was even able to drive some heavy headphones viz AudioTechnica M40X!

Therefore in the near future I have planned for a comprehensive audio upgrade including a MGA approved Sony XAV6000 and Sony ES speakers with an amplifier and subwoofer, plus I'll be replacing all 4 doors of the car and then carry out dampening as well. Now it may sound a bit foolish to spend so much for such an old, inexpensive car but truth be told, WagonR is invaluable to me, I've so many memories engraved in my mind with this car and it once even helped in saving life of my grandma, who was bleeding heavily due to a fall and there was no time to wait for ambulance, it was the WagonR which helped me to rush her to hospital and even the doctors said it was a narrow escape! WagonR is not just a car for me, it is our beloved family member and I love it every bit!

So, let's see how it goes. In the meantime I hope you're having a great time with your City and as they say, time flies, it was just a few days ago, you purchased your Honda and it will be soon completing its first anniversary with you!

See you around
Tony
