TVS-BMW starts testing its first bike; spied in Germany

Indian two-wheeler manufacturer TVS Motors and German bike maker BMW Motorrad have tied up to build small capacity motorcycles. The first of the products to come out of this collaboration, codenamed K03, has been spotted testing in Germany.

The K03 is believed to have a 300 cc, water-cooled, four-stroke, single-cylinder engine. Images of the bike indicate that it is a naked street fighter with an upright seating position, single projector headlight unit, clear lens turn-indicators, upside-down front fork suspension, monoshock at the rear, a side-mounted exhaust and a large radiator. The photographer claims that it has a back-to-front cylinder with the exhaust exiting from the rear.

The motorcycle has black alloy wheels shod with Michelin tyres and single disc brakes at the front and rear. The brake caliper at the front is a radial mounted unit and the bike is equipped with ABS.

The K03 is expected to be launched this year. It is likely to be pitted against the KTM Duke 390.
