Production of the BMW CE 02 electric scooter has commenced at TVS Motor's Hosur plant, near Bangalore.
The BMW CE 02 is said to have been designed and developed in collaboration with TVS. It is powered by a pair of 2 kWh lithium-ion batteries paired with a 15 BHP electric motor. The e-scooter has a top speed of 95 km/h and can travel up to 90 km on a single charge. BMW also offers a single battery version with a top speed of 45 km/h and a range of 45 km.
Both versions can be charged using either a 0.9 kW standard charger, which takes 5 hours 12 mins to charge both batteries from 0 - 100%. The BMW CE 02 is also compatible with a 1.5 kW fast charger, bringing down charging time to 3 hours 30 mins.
TVS and BMW have also developed five new motorcycles, including the BMW G 310 R, G 310 GS, G 310 RR, TVS Apache RR 310 and RTR 310.
