Triumph has unveiled the new Trident 660. The new roadster is powered by a 3-cylinder engine.
The Trident 660 has been developed by the Hinckley design team with inputs from Italian motorcycle designer Rodolfo Frascoli. It is based on a new tubular steel chassis and features a circular LED headlamp and a circular digital instrument cluster. The bike has a short tail section and rides on 17-inch cast aluminium wheels. The bike weighs 189 kg (wet weight).
The Trident 660 is powered by a 660cc, inline 3-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that produces 80 BHP @ 10,250 rpm and 64 Nm @ 6,250 rpm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox via a slip / assist clutch.
The bike rides on 41 mm Showa upside down forks at the front and an adjustable Showa monoshock at the rear. It comes equipped with twin 310 mm disc brakes at the front and a single disc at the rear.
The Trident 660 comes with ride-by-wire, ABS, traction control and has two riding modes - road and rain. It is offered in four colour options - Silver Ice & Diablo Red, Matt Jet Black & Matt Silver Ice, Crystal White and Sapphire Black.
In the UK, the Trident 660 costs GBP 7,195 (Rs. 6.97 lakh approx). It is likely to be launched in India sometime next year.
