Triumph Tiger Explorer XCx launched at Rs. 18.75 lakh

Triumph has launched the Tiger Explorer XCx at Rs. 18.75 lakh (ex-showroom India). The adventure bike now gets semi-active suspension, ABS and traction control optimized for cornering as well as three riding modes. The bike will be imported as a CBU.

The Tiger Explorer XCx is powered by a 1,215 cc, inline 3-cylinder engine making 137 BHP @ 9,300 rpm and 123 Nm of torque @ 6,400 rpm. Power is sent via a 6-speed gearbox and a shaft type final drive setup. Triumph claims the new exhaust system has enhanced engine performance.

Triumph's semi-active suspension allows the rider to electronically adjust damping and preload. A rider can also configure the bike up using three riding modes- Normal, Comfort, Sports. Multi-channel ABS and traction control system as well as an electrically adjustable screen are new on the Tiger Explorer XCx.

The Explorer XCx rides on 19-inch front and 17-inch rear spoked wheels shod with 120/70 R19 and 170/60 R17 tyres respectively. Braking duties are handled by twin 305 mm floating discs with Brembo 4-piston, monobloc calipers up front and a single 282 mm disc at the rear.

Other features include cruise control, heated grips, fog lights, immobilizer, hand guard, radiator and sump guards, analogue tachometer with LCD display, 12V power sockets and a 5V under seat USB port.

The new Tiger Explorer XCx is available in three colour options: Jet Black, Crystal White and Lucerne Blue. Triumph will also be offering over 50 accessories like luggage options, crash protection, seat options, etc.
