Toyota Yaris launched at Rs. 8.75 lakh. Deliveries begin

Toyota has formally launched the Yaris mid-size sedan in India. The car is available in 4 variants - J, G, V and VX with prices start at Rs. 8.75 lakh (ex-showroom, India).

Last month, Toyota had revealed all the details about the new sedan while announcing pre-launch bookings. The Yaris measures 4,425 mm in overall length, 1,730 mm in width and 1,495 mm in height, while its wheelbase is 2,550 mm. The car has a 476-litre boot and comes equipped with a 42-litre fuel tank.

The Yaris has large sweptback headlamps with projectors up front and a V-shaped grille with integrated LED DRLs. The fog lamps are placed in separated pods on either side of the grille. The rear features wraparound LED tail lamps and bumper with integrated reflector strips. 

On the inside, the Yaris gets a 3-spoke multi-functional steering wheel and a 3-pod instrument cluster with a blue backlight and silver surrounds. Further, silver trim surrounds the centre console, which houses a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system. It gets features likes electric ORVMs, automatic climate control, cruise control and power adjustable driver seat among others. Overall, the interior is finished in a dual-tone of beige and black.

The Toyota Yaris is powered by a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine which puts out 106 BHP @ 6,000 rpm and 140 Nm of torque @ 4,200 rpm. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed CVT with paddle shift.

Standard safety equipment includes 7 airbags, ABS with EBD and brake assist. Higher variants get Hill Start Assist, Vehicle Stability Control, front and rear parking sensors with reverse camera, Tyre Pressure Monitoring System and automatic headlamps.
