Earlier this month, the first images of the Toyota Raize compact SUV had surfaced online. Now, the official brochure of the car has leaked.
The Toyota Raize is based on the Daihatsu Rocky, which was unveiled at the 2019 Tokyo Motor Show. It has a trapezoidal front grille and wraparound LED headlamps. The front bumper houses a pair of circular fog lamps and what appear to be slim LED daytime running lights. The car has a black roof and ORVMs as well as blacked-out A and B-pillars. At the rear, it gets wraparound tail lights and a dual-tone bumper. The SUV rides on 5-spoke, dual-tone alloy wheels.
The Raize is based on Toyota's modular DNGA platform. In the Japanese market, the Raize is expected to get a 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder turbo petrol engine producing 97 BHP and 104 Nm of torque. Initially, it could be offered with a CVT, while a 6-speed manual version might arrive later.
The Toyota Raize sub-4 meter SUV is expected to be offered in various Asian markets. In India, it could compete with the likes of the Maruti Vitara Brezza, Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV300 and Hyundai Venue. However, there is no word yet from Toyota on whether it will be offered in India.
