According to Naveen Soni, Senior Vice President, Sales & Service, Toyota Kirloskar Motor, the carmaker will be launching the Land Cruiser with a BS6-compliant engine in India.
Earlier this year, the Land Cruiser was discontinued as BS6 emission regulations were scheduled to come in to effect. The SUV was offered with a 4,461cc, V8 diesel engine that produced 261 BHP and 650 Nm. It was paired to a 6-speed automatic transmission and a four-wheel drive system.
Toyota is likely to bring the facelift version of the Land Cruiser to India. Instead of a V8, the SUV could be powered by a 6-cylinder, turbocharged petrol engine.
Besides the new engine, the Land Cruiser also gets a few cosmetic changes. These include a new grille, headlamps and a redesigned front bumper.
