Toyota Hilux to be launched on January 20, 2022

The Hilux will compete with the Isuzu V-Cross in the Indian market.

Toyota has announced that the Hilux pickup truck will be launched in India on January 20, 2022.

The Hilux shares its underpinnings with the Innova and Fortuner. It is expected to be powered by a 2.8-litre diesel engine paired with either a manual or an automatic transmission.

The pickup truck will get a four-wheel-drive system with a 4x4 Electronic Drive Switch, Electronic Differential Lock, Active Traction Control, auto limited-slip differential, and downhill assist control.

In India, the Hilux will be equipped with a touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, leather seats and dual-zone automatic climate control. Safety features will include 7 airbags, vehicle stability control, ABS, EBD, and hill-start assist control.

The Toyota Hilux is expected to be imported as a semi-knocked down (SKD) kit and assembled locally. It will compete with the Isuzu V-Cross in the Indian market.
