Toyota announces recall for Corolla Altis Diesel

Toyota Kirloskar Motors (TKM) has issued a recall for its Corolla Altis Diesel sedan.

The recall is being done to address what the manufacturer says, is a potential aberration on the left or right side of the driveshaft (observed in a few cases).

The recall campaign will be held for Corolla Altis Diesel sedans that were manufactured between 3rd August 2012 and 14th February 2013.

Toyota will inspect and repair/replace the drive shafts free of cost at any Toyota Dealership.

Earlier in 2012 (beginning November), TKM had issued a recall of approximately 8,700  Corolla Altis and Camry sedans to inspect the Power Window Master Switch (PWMS). That recall was issued to replace an inoperative / notchy PWMS.

Toyota has sold 1487 units of Corolla Altis between January to April this year.
