India-spec Kia EV9 details out; variants, features & range

In India, the Kia EV9 will be available in a single GT-Line AWD variant.

Kia is gearing up to launch its flagship electric SUV, the EV9, in India. While the premium electric SUV will go on sale on October 3, details of the India-spec EV9, including the variants, features, and range, are already out.

In India, the Kia EV9 will be available in a single GT-Line AWD variant. It will come in a 6-seat configuration with captain seats in the second row. On the outside, the EV9 features LED headlamps with a dynamic welcome function, automatic flush-fitting door handles, and 20-inch Crystal-cut alloy wheels.

On the interior, the EV9 has dual-tone leatherette seats: 12-way adjustable front seats, 8-way power adjustable 2-row seats with ventilation and massage function, leg support, and power reclining seats in the 3-row. The EV9 also features a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 4-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated emblem, a head-up display, a wireless charger, 3-zone automatic climate control, ambient lighting, and a dual sunroof.

The Kia EV9 will also be loaded with a tonne of safety features. The electric SUV gets 10 airbags, ABS, ESC, Downhill Brake Control, VSM and disc brake on all four corners. Besides this, it also gets ADAS, which includes safety aids like Forward Collision Warning and Avoidance Assist, Blind Spot Warning and Avoidance Assist, Rear Cross Traffic Warning and Avoidance Assist, High Beam Assist, Safe Exit Warning and Assist, Driver Attention Warning, Lane Departure Warning, Lane Keep Assist, Smart Cruise Control, Lane Following Assist, and a 360-degree camera.

In India, the Kia EV9 will be offered with a 99.8 kWh battery pack that holds enough juice to cover 561 km (ARAI MIDC-Full). It powers a pair of electric motors, one on each axle, delivering 379 BHP and 700 Nm. Kia claims the EV9 can sprint from 0-100 km/h in 5.3 seconds.

Kia EV9 will be available in four colours: Snow White Pearl, Ocean Blue, Panthera Metal, and Aurora Black Pearl. Customers will get two interior colour options: White / Black and Brown / Black.
