Last month, the government of India reduced the GST rate on electric vehicles from 12% to 5%. As a result, the prices of the Tigor EV have gone down by Rs. 80,000.
The Tigor EV range is now priced from Rs. 11.58-11.92 lakh (ex-showroom Mumbai). These prices do not include the FAME II subsidy of Rs. 1.62 lakh and TCS - a 1% tax levied on cars costing above Rs. 10 lakh.
The Tigor EV is powered by a 72V, 3-Phase AC induction motor that puts out 40 BHP @ 4,500 rpm and 105 Nm of torque @ 2,500 rpm and is mated to a single speed automatic transmission. The 16.2 kWh battery is said to offer a maximum range of 142 km (MIDC cycle).
