Tata Motors signs MoU to enhance skills of automotive workers

Tata Motors has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Automotive Skill Development Council (ASDC). The ASDC is a skill council that has been recognized by the Government of India in order to carry forward various collaborative skill development programs in the automotive sector.

The aforementioned MoU will help Tata Motors to enhance the quality of training being given in the company’s skill development centres across India. Tata has six manufacturing plants in the country, with each of them having a skill development centre that imparts training to existing and new employees. With the new MoU, these training centres will be able to comply with the quality and competency levels of the National Skills Qualification Framework (NSQF).

The entire training curriculum will be divided into various modules including design, engineering, manufacturing, automobile production, and sales & service. Once the course is complete the candidates would be assessed and certification would be provided on the basis of skill levels achieved and certified as per NSQF.

Moreover, the program would impart focus on quality, productivity and discipline. It would also educate people about the importance of following safety procedures while working in an automotive manufacturing plant.
