Earlier this year, Tata Motors had showcased the Hexa concept crossover at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show. Now the company has confirmed that it will introduce the vehicle in India later this year.
The Hexa is based on the Aria, but features design changes to the exteriors and interiors. The car shown at Geneva had a flatter bonnet, a honeycomb grille with a thick brushed aluminium lining, new projector headlamps, bumpers with brushed aluminium skid plates, body cladding, blackened B, C and D-pillars, wraparound LED tail lamps, and a new tail gate with a thick brushed aluminium strip running across it, connecting the two tail lamps.
The interiors of the the Hexa features a dual tone dashboard with a multifunction steering wheel, touchscreen infotainment system, climate control, six captain seats and AC vents for the second and third row. Other features include ESP, LED ambient interior lighting, six airbags, automatic headlamps, daytime running lights and rain-sensing wipers.
The Hexa is powered by a 2.2-litre, 4-cylinder VARICOR 400 diesel engine that puts out 154 bhp and 400 Nm of torque. The engine will be mated to a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission.
