Tata Motors commercial vehicles marketing head resigns

Vinod Sahay, head of marketing for intermediate and medium and heavy commercial vehicles of Tata Motors, has resigned from the company. His last working day will be June 30. Rajesh Kaul, business head of CVLCV and SCV Cargo will take Sahay's place.

Sahay was also leading several other strategic initiatives of the commercial vehicles business unit, including key account management, analytics project, scenario planning, sectorial as well as telematics and loyalty programmes. He was one of the persons responsible for the creation and execution of the company's turnaround strategy for the light commercial vehicles business in 2003-2005. He has more than 15 years of experience in the automobile industry in areas of strategy, business management, sales and marketing, product management, and channel management. He has been a member of the steering committee of a few subsidiaries which guide and supervise the medium- and long term aggregate strategy.

Vinod Sahay will join the two-wheelers division of Mahindra & Mahindra as Chief Operating Officer in July. His responsibilities will include sales, marketing, product planning, exports, manufacturing and quality.

While Tata Motors has seen several executives leaving its passenger vehicles business in the recent past, this is the first high-profile exit in the commercial vehicles business.
