According to a media report, Tata Motors is planning to launch the Gravitas during the last quarter of the current fiscal.
The Tata Gravitas is the 7-seat version of the Harrier. It will be offered with 3-rows of seats with the option of separate captain seats in the second row. The dashboard of the car will be similar to the Harrier and will feature a floating touchscreen infotainment head-unit and a semi-digital instrument cluster.
The SUV is based on the OMEGA platform, which is derived from Land Rover's D8 architecture. It is expected to get disc brakes on all four wheels and an electronic parking brake.
The Gravitas could be offered with a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder diesel engine producing 170 BHP and 350 Nm of torque. The engine could be mated to either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox.
