Suzuki Swift facelift launched in Japan

Suzuki has launched the Swift facelift in Japan. The hatchback is available with hybrid and mild-hybrid powertrains.

The new Swift features an updated front end with a new grille. Depending on the variant, the grille gets a chrome or red strip in the centre and a chrome surround. The front bumpers house circular fog lamps, while the sweptback headlamps get projectors. The car rides on dual-tone alloy wheels.

The Swift has black interiors with a touchscreen infotainment head-unit, a 3-spoke multi-function steering wheel and twin-pod instrument cluster.

In Japan, the car is available with hybrid or mild-hybrid powertrains. It uses a 1.2-litre Dualjet petrol engine which produces 90 BHP @ 6,000 rpm and 118 Nm @ 4,400 rpm. The hybrid variant is claimed to deliver 23 km/l, while the fuel economy of the mild-hybrid variant is said to be 21 km/l.
