Suzuki starts delivering locally assembled Hayabusa in India

Suzuki Motorcycles has started delivering locally-assembled Hayabusa bikes in India. The first India-made Hayabusa has recently been delivered to a customer in Delhi. The company has also revealed that more units will be delivered to customers in the coming weeks.

Suzuki had launched the locally-assembled Hayabusa in India in March this year, at a price of Rs. 13.57 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). Assembling the bike locally helped the manufacturer to price it at around Rs. 2.5 lakh cheaper than the price point of the CBU model sold earlier.

The CKD assembled models of the Hayabusa in India feature the same specifications as that of the CBU models that have been sold in the country all these years. It is thus powered by a 1,340cc, liquid-cooled, 4-cylinder, 4-stroke engine that is mated to a 6-speed transmission. The combination is reported to make around 194 BHP and 154 Nm of torque. Reports also suggest that Suzuki is mulling the introduction of a supercharged version of the bike.
