Suzuki has launched the third generation Hayabusa in India at a price of Rs. 16,40,000 (ex-showroom Delhi). It will be available in three colours - Glass Sparkle Black / Candy Burnt Gold, Metallic Mat Sword Silver / Candy Daring Red and Pearl Brilliant White / Metallic Mat Stellar Blue.
The Hayabusa has received a full model change for the first time in 13 years. But, Suzuki has retained the original silhouette and layout of the instrument console of previous generations’ Hayabusas, in the third generation model.
The new Hayabusa is powered by a 1,340cc, four-stroke, fuel-injected liquid-cooled DOHC, in-line four-cylinder engine that delivers 187 BHP @ 9,700 rpm and 150 Nm @ 7,000 rpm. This engine complies with BS6 emission norms.
The bike comes with Suzuki Intelligent Ride System (S.I.R.S.). It features SDMS-α, which offers a choice between three factory presets - Active, Basic, and Comfort, as well as three user-defined settings (U1, U2, U3). Each one of these selects the mode settings as a group for the Power Mode Selector, Motion Track Traction Control, Anti-lift Control, Engine Brake Control and Bi-directional Quick Shift systems. The rider uses switches on the left handlebar to change modes and setting.
S.I.R.S. also comes with an Active Speed Limiter that allows the rider to set a speed limit the bike should not exceed. The system can be temporarily overridden with a quick twist of the throttle, making it easy to accelerate beyond the set limit to pass other vehicles. It can be deactivated completely by pressing a button after releasing the throttle.
The new Suzuki Hayabusa can be booked online through ‘Suzuki at your Doorstep’ on the company’s website. The booking amount has been set at Rs. 1,00,000. Dispatches of the bike are scheduled to begin in the middle of May 2021.
