Suzuki GSX-1000 and GSX-1000F launched in India

Japanese two-wheeler manufacturer Suzuki, has introduced the GSX-S1000 and GSX-S1000F motorcycles in India. While the former is priced at Rs. 12,25,000, the latter costs Rs. 12,70,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi).

The GSX-1000 is a naked roadster and the GSX-S1000F, its fully faired siblings. Both bikes measure 2,110 mm in length, 795 mm in width and 1,180 mm in height with a wheelbase of 1,460 mm, ground clearance of 140 mm and a seat height of 810 mm. Both bikes even have the same 17-litre fuel tank. However, while the naked bike weighs 209 kg and the fully faired version tips the scales at 214 kg.

Bothm the GSX-1000 and GSX-1000F are powered by a 999cc, 4-cylinder, 4-stroke, liquid cooled engine mated to a 6-speed gearbox. Stopping power is provided by twin disc brakes at the front an a single disc brake at the rear. Suspension duties are carried out by a 43mm inverted telescopic fork and a link type suspension at the front and rear respectively. Both bikes come with a 120/70ZR17M/C (58W) tubeless tyre at the front and a 190/50ZR17M/C (73W) tubeless tyre at the rear.

Other features include a switchable 3-mode traction control system, and instrumentation that combines analogue and digital components.

The GSX-1000 and GSX-1000F are available in two colours - Candy Daring Red / Glass Sparkle Black (AV4) and Metallic Triton Blue (YSF).
