SsangYong Rexton recalled over faulty rear driveshaft

Mahindra has recalled the SsangYong Rexton SUV in India due to a probable fault in its rear driveshaft. The company hasn't announced the exact number of units affected under this recall, but it covers all vehicles produced in and before September 2014.

The company has announced that their authorized dealerships will be getting in touch with Rexton customers across the country. All expenses related to inspection, rectification and replacement will be taken care of by the company.

The Rexton is the first and currently the only vehicle sold under the SsangYong brand in India. It was launched in October 2012, and is powered by a 2.7-litre diesel engine, that is offered in two states of tune - 162 BHP and 184 BHP. It is priced in the range of Rs. 21 lakh to Rs. 25 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
