Skoda has unveiled the facelifted version of the Superb. Apart from the standard car, it will be offered in Sportline, Combi, Scout (4x4) and a new iV electric-hybrid versions. An all-electric version is also scheduled for launch in 2020.
The refreshed Superb gets a redesigned grille, chrome strip between rear tail lights and a new front bumper. It gets full matrix LED headlamps. The new bumper has increased the length of the standard car by 8 mm to 4,869 mm and the Combi by 6 mm to 4,862 mm. Other dimensions are unchanged. The Combi gets a larger boot, the Sportline comes with a lowered chassis while the Scout gets a raised suspension and rough road package as standard.
The Superb iV will be powered by a 1.4-liter TSi engine rated at 154 BHP and an 85 kW electric motor for a total output of 215 BHP. It has a 13 kWh battery in the boot which the company claims offers 55 km of range. The car is claimed to meet Euro 6d emission norms with CO2 emission below 40 g/km.
Other engine options include a choice of 3 petrol and 3 diesel engines rated from 118 BHP to 268 BHP. Transmission options include 6 and 7-speed DSG gearbox along with a 6-speed manual. An all-wheel drive system is offered on select variants and standard on the Scout.
Safety features include predictive cruise control, emergency assist, lane assist and park assist. The Superb also comes with a blindspot detection of up to 20 m and a side assist up to 70 m. Predictive pedestrian protection is also offered.
