Skoda Rapid 1.0L TSI to get only 6-speed MT at launch

According to a media report, the Skoda Rapid 1.0L TSI will only get the 6-speed manual transmission at launch. A 6-speed automatic transmission will be introduced at a later date.

The Skoda Rapid will come in five variants - Active, Ambition, Onyx, Style and Monte Carlo. The carmaker has already started accepting bookings for a token amount of Rs. 50,000.

Meanwhile, Volkswagen is now offering a BS6-compliant 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine in the Polo and Vento. It produces 108 BHP and 175 Nm of torque. Both cars get a choice of a 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic transmission.
