Skoda will launch its new flagship SUV, Kodiaq in India on October 4, 2017.
The Skoda Kodiaq is based on the VW Group's MQB platform. It measures 4,697 mm in length, 1,882 mm in width, 1,676 mm in height and has a wheelbase of 2,791 mm. The SUV has a ground clearance of 140 mm and a fuel tank of 63 litres.
The Kodiaq features a vertically slatted front grille which is housed in between a pair of LED headlights. LED DRLs are placed on the bottom line of the headlamps. A pair of LED fog lamps are placed below the headlamps. A distinct character line runs along the side of the vehicle and merges into the C-shaped LED tail lamp cluster. The Kodiaq offers room for 7 people and has 345 litres of luggage space which can be increased to 2,005 litres by folding the rear seats.
The Kodiaq will be powered by a 1,968cc, turbocharged diesel engine offered on the VW Tiguan. In the Kodiaq, it produces 148 BHP @ 3,500-4,000 rpm and a peak torque of 340 Nm @ 1,750-3,000. The engine is paired with a 7-speed DSG gearbox and the power is transmitted to all wheels.
The SUV will be offered with features like handsfree parking, touchscreen infotainment system with 10 speaker Canton sound system and SmartLink connectivity, park assist, ABS with EBD, ESC (Electronic Stability Control), TCS (Traction Control System), Electromechanical parking brake (rear axle) with Auto Hold Function (both front and rear axle) and 9 airbags among others.
