Mercedes-Benz is expected to launch the W223 S-Class in India sometime this month. Details of the India-spec model have been revealed. The German carmaker will be introducing the 'Launch Edition' of the S-Class and the car will be imported as a CBU.
The 'Launch Edition' will come with AMG body kits and AMG alloys, flush-fitting door handles, 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, rear-seat entertainment, rear touch tablet, 64-colour ambient lighting, Burmester 4D surround sound system, Nappa leather on the steering wheel and seats, front and rear massage package, neck warmer, navigation with 3D maps, electrically-adjustable rear seats, and a 12.8-inch LED touchscreen infotainment system with MBUX and 16 GB RAM. Safety features include rear-seat airbags, Attention Assist and Driving Assistance Package.
The W223 S-Class measures 5,289 mm in length, 1,921 mm in width, 1,483 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 3,216 mm. It will be offered with two engine options. The S400d 4MATIC will get a 6-cylinder diesel engine producing 326 BHP and 700 Nm, while the S450 4MATIC will get a 6-cylinder petrol engine producing 362 BHP and 500 Nm. Both engines are paired to a 9-speed automatic transmission. The sedan will be equipped with rear-wheel steering with up to 4.5-degree movement, which reduces the turning circle.
The W223 will be offered in five colour options - Designo Diamond White, Onyx Black, Anthracite Blue, Rubellite Red, and Emerald Green. Two interior colour themes will be offered - Macchiato Beige with Magma Grey and Sienna Brown with Black.
