Scoop! Toyota Belta LHD models spotted for export markets

The Toyota Belta is expected to be launched in the Indian market this festive season.

A batch of Toyota Belta sedans has been spotted at a port. These are left-hand-drive models headed for the export markets.

The Belta is a rebadged Maruti Suzuki Ciaz and will be powered by the 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder mild-hybrid petrol engine. It produces 103 BHP and 138 Nm and comes paired with either a 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic transmission.

Apart from swapping out the Suzuki badges, Toyota hasn't made any cosmetic changes to the car. It features the same front grille, bumper and headlights as the Ciaz. It's the same story with the rear end. Even the alloy wheels are carried over from the Maruti sedan.
