The upcoming Skoda Kodiaq SUV has been spotted testing without any camouflage in India. While we had earlier posted an undisguised spy shot of the Kodiaq revealing its rear end, the new set of images offer comprehensive details about the SUV's exterior and interior design.

The Kodiaq is Skoda's first attempt at building a 7-seater, full-size SUV. It is essentially a production version of the Vision S concept that the company had showcased at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show. The India-spec model seems to have borrowed most of its design cues from the international model. The front includes sweptback headlamps that are expected to come with LED technology on the top-end variant, a wide grille with vertical slats and higher placed fog lamps.

The side profile reveals multi-spoke alloy wheels, squared wheel arches, a chrome strip running around the windows, prominent roof rails and black plastic cladding on the wheel arches and running board. The rear end features Skoda's crystalline design cues, including wrap around tail lights, creases on the tailgate and a dual-tone bumper.

The new spy shots also offer a glimpse of the Kodiaq's interiors. The image reveals a three-spoke steering wheel with integrated control buttons, a large touchscreen infotainment system placed in the middle of the centre console, which is flanked on both sides by vertically-oriented HVAC vents. A wide trim insert on the passenger side of the dashboard is also visible. This layout is similar to the interiors of the international-spec Kodiaq.

The India-spec Kodiaq is expected to be powered by 2.0-litre, four-cylinder, turbocharged petrol and diesel engines. The spotted model was equipped with a 4x4 drive system and a DSG gearbox. A 6-speed manual is the other transmission option that is likely to be on offer.

With the Kodiaq, Skoda will be aiming to compete against the likes of the Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endeavour, Chevrolet Trailblazer and the Mitsubishi Pajero Sport.
