One unit of the Mercedes-AMG GT S has been imported into India, indicating that the launch of the car could be around the corner.
The GT S is Mercedes-AMG's flagship sports car. It is powered by a 3,982 cc, V8 bi-turbo engine that is mated to a 7-speed, dual clutch automatic transmission. The engine produces 503 BHP and 650 Nm of torque. The company claims that the car can reach 100 kph from a standstill in 3.7 seconds and touch an electronically limited maximum speed of 310 kph.
The GT S rides on 10-spoke alloy wheels and comes with a double wishbone suspension at the front and a multi-link suspension at the rear.
Mercedes-AMG has equipped the GT S with electro-mechanical steering and a rear axle locking differential. Assistance systems such as Collision Prevention Assist Plus, Adaptive Brake, Attention Assist, Parktronic, rear-view camera, Pre-Safe system and the tire pressure monitoring system are provided as a part of standard equipment. Safety features include three-point seat belts with belt tensioners and belt force limiters, front airbags, combined thorax/pelvis side bags, window bags and knee bags, for the driver and front passenger respectively.
