Scoop! Mahindra XUV500 with production-spec tail lamps spied

New spy images of the second generation Mahindra XUV500 have partially revealed the car's production-spec tail lamp clusters.

The XUV500 test mules that we have seen until now have had dummy tail lights. However, this test mule appears to be in a much latter pre-production stage.

The spy images indicate that the new XUV500 could get horizontal or L-shaped tail lamp clusters. The car also has a pair of reflectors mounted on the rear bumper.

One of the key highlights of the next generation XUV500 will be its door handles. The SUV gets flush-fitting door handles, which can be seen in these images. Note how the door handle on the driver's door has popped out.

Last week, another XUV500 test mule was spotted with a production-spec grille. However, that car too was fitted with dummy headlights and tail lights.

Reports suggest that the new model could be sold alongside the current generation XUV500. It could be offered with a 2.0-litre mStallion T-GDi turbocharged, four-cylinder petrol engine that produces 187 BHP @ 5,000 rpm and 380 Nm at 1,750-4,000 rpm as well as a 2.0-litre diesel unit.
