SCOOP: Mahindra Maxximo electric spied in Bangalore

An electric version of the Mahindra Maxximo minivan has been spotted testing in Bangalore, indicating that the company might be thinking of introducing the vehicle in the market in the near future.

The image shows the electric motor sitting next to the Maxximo's rear axle and masking, which presumably hides some badges. The vehicle is reported to have a Mahindra Reva Quick Charge port next to the left tail lamp and a conventional fuel lid as well. The minivan's roof is believed to be entirely covered with a huge solar panel and the vehicle made no sound when it moved off, which is typical of electric vehicles.

The Maxximo electric could well make it to production. However, solar panels are expensive and if Mahindra does indeed offer the vehicle with a solar panel, it will be interesting to see how its price is kept in check.
