S-Cross scores 5-stars in Asean and Euro NCAP

View Forum Discussion

Maruti is soon going to launch the S-Cross in India. Internationally, this car has fared well in the crash tests scoring 5 starts in both the Asean NCAP as well as the Euro NCAP.

In the Asean NCAP, the Singapore and Malaysia-specific S-Cross scored 15.48 points out of 16, for Adult Occupant Protection (AOP) - Driver and Front Passenger. This resulted in a 5-star rating. However, it managed to get only 4-stars when it comes to Child Occupant Protection, as it managed to achieve 39.50 out of 49.

The S-Cross has also been awarded 5-stars by Euro NCAP, with the car scoring 92% points for adult occupant safety, 80% for child occupant safety, 72% pedestrian safety and 81% for safety assist. Some of the safety features found on the international spec S-Cross models include 7 airbags (including a driver-knee airbag), electronic stability program, anti-lock braking system and electronic brake-force distribution.

We're not sure how many safety features from the above make it to India. Also, we will have to wait and see how (if conducted) will the India-made S-Cross fare in the Asean NCAP.
