Rumour: Suzuki Burgman Street to be launched in July 2018

Suzuki is planning to launch a new maxi-scooter that will be positioned above the Access 125. According to media reports, the Burgman Street could be launched as early as next month.

Suzuki's Burgman Street maxi-scooter was initially spotted in January 2018. This week, it was spotted again in Gurgaon during an advertisement shoot. In terms of styling, the Burgman Street has a large front cowl with a sweptback headlamp and a short windshield. The tail lamp is integrated into the bodywork and features arrow-shaped turn signals. The vehicle comes with telescopic fork and monoshock suspension.

Suzuki hasn't announced the engine specifications of the India-spec Burgman Street. However, reports suggest that it could be offered with the same 124.3cc, single-cylinder air-cooled engine that powers the Access 125. This unit develops 8.5 BHP @ 7,000 rpm and 10.2 Nm of torque @ 5,000 rpm. The scooter comes with a single disc brake at the front and a drum setup at the rear. Combined Braking System (CBS) is expected to be offered as standard.

The Suzuki Burgman Street will compete with the Apirlia SR150 and TVS NTorq in the premium scooter segment.
