The Skoda Karoq was first spotted in India in October 2017. Now, according to the information shared, production of the Karoq is underway at Skoda's Aurangabad factory. It is said that the carmaker is planning to launch the SUV sometime in April-May 2019. Service staff training is likely to commence from next month. The car is likely to be priced between Rs. 25-30 lakh.

The Karoq is based on the MQB platform. It features a traditional Skoda grille in the front with rectangular sweptback headlamps. A pair of trapezoidal fog lamps are placed just below the headlamp clusters, while the front bumper features a wide air dam. At the rear, the car has wraparound tail lights and a bumper with integrated reflectors.

In India, the Karoq could be offered with 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol and 2.0-litre diesel engines. The information shared also suggests that a BS-VI compliant, 1.6-litre diesel unit paired with a DSG dual-clutch automatic transmission could be offered on the Karoq. There has been no official word from Skoda yet.
