According to a media report, the next generation Land Rover Defender is likely to be launched in India in June 2020. Initially, Land Rover is expected to offer the Defender 110 long wheelbase variant, while the Defender 90 could be introduced by the end of next year.
The next generation Defender was unveiled in September 2019. The new model is based on the D7x architecture. It is expected to be offered with a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine, paired with an automatic transmission and an all-wheel drive system.
The report states that the Defender could be available in 4 variants - standard, S, SE and HSE. Higher variants are expected to get a dual-tone roof option and features such as the Meridian audio system, a digital instrument cluster and the ClearSight IRVM, among others.
The Defender could also get 4 accessory packages called as Urban Pack, Country Pack, Adventure Pack and Explorer Pack.
