Rumour: Mercedes-Benz to launch new C-Class next month

The new Mercedes-Benz C-Class (W205) sedan is likely to be launched soon. If information from a dealership is to be believed, it could be as early as mid-November.

The existing model (W204) is rumoured to be already out of stock at most dealerships and a search on zauba.com reveals that Mercedes Benz India has already started importing large numbers of the of the new C200 (petrol) from Germany. The C220 CDI has also been imported albeit in lesser numbers.

Initially, the company is likely to launch only the C200 petrol as a CBU and the launch edition is likely to be equipped with additional features. The C220 CDI will be launched later (January / February 2015) as a CKD, but unlike the C200, there will be no launch edition. The cars are expected to be priced in the Rs. 40-45 lakh (ex-showroom) bracket, which is higher than the current model.
