Rumour: Mahindra XUV300 launch on February 15, 2019

According to a media report, Mahindra is likely to launch the XUV300 on February 15, 2019.

The Mahindra XUV300 compact SUV was unveiled earlier this month. It is based on the Ssangyong Tivoli platform. While it looks similar to the Tivoli, Mahindra has made a few changes to the exterior. It has a new grille with chrome inserts and headlamp clusters with projectors as well as V-shaped LED DRLs. The front bumper, with its L-shaped fog lamp housing, is inspired by the XUV500. At the rear, the car has wraparound tail lights and a dual-tone bumper. Higher variants of the XUV300 are likely to get dual-tone alloy wheels.

The interior of the XUV300 features a dual-tone dashboard and a touchscreen infotainment system. It comes with a 3-spoke multi-function steering wheel and a twin-dial instrument cluster.

The XUV300 is expected to be powered by 1.5-litre diesel and 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engines. Both engines are mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. Mahindra is yet to confirm the powertrain options.

The XUV300 will rival the Tata Nexon, Maruti Vitara Brezza and the Ford EcoSport.
