Rumour: Hyundai Venue to get 1.5L diesel engine option

According to a media report, Hyundai could offer a 1.5-litre diesel engine option in the Venue. It is rumoured to be introduced in April 2020.

The 1.5-litre diesel engine is the same BS-VI compliant unit that debuted in the Kia Seltos. It is likely to be offered in two states of tune. In base tune, the engine could produce 89 BHP and 220 Nm and with a Variable Geometry Turbocharger (VGT) it could make 113 BHP and 250 Nm of torque.

The VGT equipped 1.5-litre diesel engine is also said to replace the 1.4-litre and 1.6-litre diesel engines form Hyundai's current line up.

At present, the Venue is available with three engine options, which include 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol, 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol and 1.4-litre diesel engines.
