Royal Enfield to unveil Himalayan on February 2, 2016?

Royal Enfield will host a press conference on Feb 2 in New Delhi, ahead of the 2016 Delhi Auto Expo. It is believed that the company will unveil the Himalayan adventure tourer at the event.

The Himalayan is an entry-level adventure tourer and features a telescopic fork suspension setup at the front and a monoshock at the rear. It will come with a windshield, panniers, dedicated mounts for jerrycans and off-road tyres.

The Himalayan is believed to be powered by a new 410cc, single-cylinder engine with an oil cooler. This unit is expected to produce close to 30 BHP and 32 Nm of torque. The engine is expected to be mated to a 5-speed gearbox.

The bike is expected to get an all-new instrument cluster with a large analogue speedometer that has markings in kph as well as mph, along with an integrated digital MID, an analogue tachometer, a fuel gauge and a compass. Various warning lamps are housed between the speedometer and the tachometer.
