Royal Enfield Himalayan engine snapped

The launch of the Royal Enfield Himalayan motorcycle is nearing. Earlier this month, an image of what is believed to be the production-ready version of the bike was posted. Now the engine of the motorcycle has been photographed closely.

The Himalayan gets a new 410cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that is finished in black. Previous images have revealed that it will come with a separate oil-cooler.

Media reports suggest that the new powerplant will develop around 27 BHP and 32 Nm of torque. It will be mated to a 5-speed gearbox. The Himalayan will not get a kick starter and the engine is not likely to produce the thump that Enfield motorcycles are famous for.

Royal Enfield is expected to unveil the Himalayan in early 2016. According to reports, it will be available in two body styles and priced between Rs. 1.65 lakh and Rs. 1.85 lakh. An official announcement from the company is awaited.
