Royal Enfield announces new adventure ride format - Scramble

Royal Enfield has announced the addition of a new adventure and exploration ride format in its calendar. The Royal Enfield Scramble will be organized in partnership with Himalayan Motorsport, which also organizes the Raid de Himalaya rally.

Based on rally format, the first event under the Scramble name has been scheduled from June 14 to June 18, 2017 in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh. Each team will include two participants on separate motorcycles and will be awarded points based on the Time Speed Distance (TSD) format. In order to earn the required points, each team member will need to find the waypoints through a road book and based on pre-assigned co-ordinates.

The first Scramble riding event has been divided into three legs. The riders will need to ride in the Giri River Valley, Sutler River Valley and Arki Basin, while each leg would conclude at the Koti Resorts. For the first season, Royal Enfield has decided to include 35 teams in total for the Scramble event. These will include 25 all-men teams, 5 all-women teams and 5 mixed (men and women) teams.

The company is currently accepting registrations for the Scramble ride event on its official website.
