Replaced my Maruti XL6's damaged rear wheel arch cladding

The cladding took the brunt of the accident, protecting the body panels & paint.

BHPian Leoshashi recently shared this with other enthusiasts.

Minor Update: The XL6 got hit by protruding metal bar of an E Rick, which was going on the wrong side/lane. Since I was stationary, there was nothing I could do, rather than see the damage on ORVM.

The rear left cladding got ripped out near the lower bumper. Thankfully, no other damage to the car. Now, these claddings were the same ones that took the brunt when I had brushed against a pillar in November 2020.

I had purchased the cladding back then but refrained from putting it on because the clips were too tight. This time, E Rick had made my job easier. The cladding on the door came out cleanly, but the one on the quarter panel was painful and most of the clips got stuck.

The impact point on old cladding:

Decided to fix the part on the rear door too. The new cladding comes with new clips, part number and price:

The underside of the cladding was too dirty:

Cleaned quickly:

Door part replaced:

Cladding removed from the quarter panel:

It also came with its clips pre-installed:

These trims are quite cheap, reminds me of M800 days!:

Replaced, removing those stuck clips was the only tiring part:

Found this assembly line sticker under the cladding:
