The Porsche Taycan and Audi e-tron GT have been recalled over a potential defect in the battery module.
207 vehicles are said to have been affected by this recall. It includes 176 Taycans manufactured between October 21, 2019, and March 4, 2024, and 31 units of the e-tron GT/ RS e-tron GT manufactured between January 1, 2020, and February 16, 2024.
According to the companies, the battery cell modules may have certain technical irregularities from the time of production. This could lead to a rise in temperature and cause a fire due to a short circuit within the battery module.
Porsche and Audi are expected to reach out to owners of the affected vehicles. The owners will be requested to schedule an appointment and get the issue rectified free of cost.
