Nissan Terrano Automatic teased, launching soon

Nissan has released a teaser image of the automatic variant of the Terrano compact SUV. The vehicle is expected to be launched later this month and is likely to reach Nissan showrooms all over the country by the end of next week.

The Terrano automatic is expected to be equipped with the same ZF-sourced Automated Manual Transmission (AMT) system, that is found in the Renault Duster. This AMT unit will be mated to the 1.5-litre K9K diesel engine that develops 109 BHP and 248 Nm of torque.

Renault offers the Duster AMT in two variants - RxL and RxZ, which are priced at Rs. 11.76 lakh and Rs. 12.97 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) respectively. The Terrano AMT is expected to be priced similarly.

While its mechanically identical sibling, the Renault Duster, has received an all-wheel drive (AWD) variant, the Terrano continues to be offered only with a front-wheel drive configuration. There are no indications that the company will offer an AWD version of the car in the future as well.
