Skoda has unveiled the next-generation Octavia.
The new Octavia measures 4,689 mm in length, 1,829 mm in width, 1,470 mm in height and has a wheelbase of 2,686 mm. The updated styling package includes a new grille that has a chrome frame and twin-pod LED headlights with L-shaped LED daytime running lights. The redesigned front bumper houses a pair of fog lamps. The car has a coupe-like roof line with blacked-out B-pillars and chrome trim around the windows. At the rear, the new Octavia gets redesigned LED tail lights and bumper. The boot lid now has the Skoda lettering in the centre instead of the circular logo.
The new Octavia comes with an all-new interior featuring a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment head-unit and a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster. The car comes with a 2-spoke multi-function steering wheel, while a 3-spoke wheel is available as an option. It has a redesigned centre console and the traditional gear lever has been replaced by a switch.
In the international market, the new Octavia is offered with a range of petrol, diesel and CNG powertrain options. These include a 1.0-litre, 1.5-litre and 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engines, a mild-hybrid 1.0-litre and 1.5-litre turbo petrol and a 1.4-litre turbo petrol plug-in hybrid. A CNG variant powered by a 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine is also on offer. The 2.0-litre diesel is offered in three states of tune. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual and 7-speed dual-clutch automatic. All-wheel drive is available with the 2.0-litre turbo petrol and diesel engines paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
