Next-gen Skoda Octavia RS India launch expected in 2022

According to an Instagram post, Skoda could launch the next-gen Octavia RS in India sometime in 2022. The high-performance variant of the Octavia could be sold as a CBU.

The fourth-gen Octavia RS gets a sporty exterior with a black grille and smoked headlamps, twin exhaust tips at the rear and rides on dual-tone alloy wheels that come in either 18-inch or 19-inch sizes. It is also equipped with bolstered seats with massage function, Alcantara upholstery and has faux carbon fibre trim.

In Europe, the new Octavia RS is available with a 2.0-litre, turbo-petrol engine that produces 241 BHP and 370 Nm. The engine is paired with either a 6-speed manual or 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The ride height of the RS has been lowered by 15mm and it comes with dynamic chassis control with electronically adaptable suspension and a limited slip differential.
