Skoda has released the first design sketch of the next-generation Octavia. The new model is expected to make its global debut on November 11, 2019.
As per the design sketches, the new Octavia is expected to get a typical Skoda grille with a chrome frame and twin-pod headlights. The dual-tone front bumper has a more chiseled look and has chrome inserts. The car has a prominent shoulder line and chrome trim around the windows. At the rear, the new Octavia could get redesigned tail lights with the 'Skoda' script in the centre of the boot lid. The rear bumper has integrated reflector strips.
The new Octavia is expected to be based on the MQB platform. In the international market, the car is likely to be offered with 1.0-litre, 1.5-litre and 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engines and a 2.0-litre diesel unit. A plug-in hybrid version is also reportedly in the works.
