Suzuki is planning to launch the new-gen Swift next year. It has already been spotted testing multiple times in Europe. With the Swift getting a major update, it is obvious that the hatchback's sedan sibling - the DZire will also be getting a new model. In-line with these plans, Maruti Suzuki, has now started testing the next-gen DZire in the country.
A set of spy shots of the new DZire were leaked a couple of days back, which showcased the car's front end. According to those images, the new DZire will get a larger front grille, in accordance to the company's latest design philosophy. It also adorns a new pair of headlamps and LED DRLs. New images surfaced also reveal a few details about the rear end. It gets a new set of taillights, while the boot lid gets a sharp kink in the centre in order to accommodate the new taillamps.
However, since the car is heavily camouflaged, it is difficult to judge the exact shape and structure of the final product. Moreover, the car spotted is probably an early prototype and hence the production model might get a slightly different structure as well.
Another image also reveals a few details about the car's interiors. Interestingly, the small pieces of dashboard visible in this image aren’t similar to those spotted on the new-gen Swift. While the 2017 Swift gets circular AC vents, the DZire spotted on Indian roads appears to get new AC vents and dashboard design. Moreover, the new-gen DZire's cabin will likely continue to feature a dual-tone black-beige scheme.
The new Swift DZire is expected to launch in India later next year. No comprehensive information about the powertrain options available on the new model is available yet.
